RESIDENTIAL HABILITATION
Residential Habilitation focuses on assisting and training clients toward their maximum level of independence. This can be achieved by personal supports, maintenance of daily living, and community outreach.
Personal supports concentrate on supervision and training on activities related to daily living such as personal hygiene, homemaking skills (food preparation, vacuuming, laundry), and adaptive skills (grocery shopping, transportation, etc). Through community outreach, program participants are given the opportunity, encouragement, and testing on their ability to generalize skills learned at home into the surrounding community. By establishing a foundation with the learning of these skills, program participants are given the opportunity to gain more control and explore the possibilities that exist in all aspects of life.
